Create New Pages

There are two ways of creating new pages in Consolo. One way is to duplicate an existing page. This is done by selecting a page in the Page Structure and then clicking Duplicate in the toolbar. Type in a menu name for the new page and click Update .

The other way is by using the New Page feature. This is how it works:

Use your mouse to select a place in the page structure where you want the new page to be inserted. In the example to the right, the page will be inserted between “Start page”and “Metal”.

3. Choose Template, Menu Name and File Name

Start by choosing the template you want to use for the new web page. A preview of the template is displayed in the small web browser window to the right.
In the Menu Name field, type in the title you want the page to have in the menu.
Consolo will suggest a filename automatically. You can change this filename if you want.
Click the Create Page button.

4. Design the Page

An editor will appear. The look and features of the editor will vary depending on what type of information you are editing:

Read about editing of web pages (html-based) »
Read about editing of register-based data (xml, flash etc) »

Design the page the way you want it to look and choose Save Changes in the toolbar when you are done. If you are editing html-based content, you can now enter more information about the page. After this, click ‘Publish Now’.

The new page has now been saved on the web site, but it is still not visible to visitors. When you feel that the page is ready, and want to make it visible, select the page in the page structure, check the box Visible in Menu under Properties, and click Update.

6. Done!

The new page has now been published on the web site.
