All the templates you want the editor to be able to choose from, need to be placed in the folder “consolo/templates/”. You can put any type of page in the folder; e.g. html, asp, php, xml.
A template is in fact like any other page. Create the template pages so they give the editor a good overview and starting point.
The templates can be arranged so the editor have different templates to choose from depending on where in the Page Structure the page is inserted. If a new page is inserted in the folder “aboutus/employees/”, Consolo will start looking for templates in the folder “consolo/templates/aboutus/emplyees”. If this folder doesn’t exist, or is empty, Consolo will look for templates in the folder “consolo/templates/aboutus/”. If this folder doesn’t exist either, or is empty, Consolo will finally look for templates in the folder “consolo/templates/”.
This is very useful when pages look different in different parts of the web site, and also when using xml-acrhives, in which case you can make sure the editor uses the xml-template designed for the current archive.
